Bicester Parkrun 2025

Written by Cath Moyse - Mon 6th Jan 2025

Today was my first Parkrun, but I left the actual running to the experts - in this case two bears, a couple of chickens, Anna and Olaf from Frozen and a sheep. Unfortunately Rudolph had damaged his hamstring pulling Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve so had to settle for volunteering as a marshal instead.

I was secretly delighted that Steph asked me to wear Mother Bear’s outfit from the Goldilocks pantomime. The furry costume was big enough to put on over my coat and so provided an extra layer to keep me toasty and warm.

Our fastest runner was Baby Bear who completed the 5km course in 24 minutes 46 seconds. Not bad for someone dressed head to paw in animal fur. He boasted that he could have gone even faster if someone hadn’t kept pulling on his tail.

Our intrepid runners posed for photos and handed out lots of leaflets to promote our pantomime Beauty and The Beast which is on at Cooper School from 19th to 22nd February.
