LVP Panto 2023 - only a few rehearsals to go!

Written by Cath Moyse - Mon 6th Feb 2023

With just 10 days to go until the first performance and the last rehearsal before they move into Cooper School Performance Hall, the cast aced it and managed to get through the entire rehearsal without needing any assistance from our prompter, Hilary. They were not even phased when the director announced that they would be rehearsing the two acts in reverse order!

Nicky (who plays principal girl Jessie) was sporting a broken wrist, but she didn't let that stop her singing and dancing with her usual gusto. Dan stepped in with relish to fill the role of the missing Dame (as well as acting his own role as half of the comedy duo, Dick and Dock). He coped admirably, even in the scenes where he was acting opposite himself in both roles. Dame Lily is supposed to be a renowned Sandwich Maker - I can only hope that her sandwiches are better than her jokes!

I loved the prop makers' attention to detail - King Wonderful (the baddie, Boo! Hiss!) communicates remotely with his sidekicks via an iBad!

I can't wait until next weekend when we move into Cooper School and bring together all the other elements of the production such as stage management, lighting, sound effects, props and scenery.

There are 7 performances from Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th February, with all profits being donated to Nai's House. It's going to be a great show so get your tickets at www.ticketsource.co.uk/lvp or phone 07864 715708.
